My entry for Rules of Carnage 'Green Jam'
Playing on the green is a simulation of me getting bored in Summer holidays, calling for mates and coming up with some nutty new sport to play to pass the time. It is a table-top miniatures game for 2 players played with 7 ish minis each, and a handful of dice.
You are 10 years old, you and a bunch of your best buddies have spent all summer holidays on the local green. Fed up with football, chasing crickets and building bases you decide to make up a new sport, and do you know what? You think you’ve cracked it.
Behold ‘GREENBEE’
GREENBEE is fun, free, and what’s best - because you came up with it, you’re the best at it. That is until your brother arrives with his mates. These guys are 13, THIRTEEN, coming down here strutting their stuff? And what’s worse, they’ve challenged you to a game of GREENBEE?? How. Dare. They.
You make a mental note that after you’ve whipped them, you’ll go home and cry to your parents - see if you can’t get the knobhead grounded for a day or two.
GREENBEE is a game played with 2 players on a tabletop of any size, using miniatures or paper standees to represent your team of characters. If you have some green baize to put down on a kitchen table, that would be wonderful. If not, use your imagination.
Now, lets forget about going back to school and lets just GREENBEE.
The teenagers are bigger, stronger, faster, better! But the 10 year olds invented this game - and experience counts. Who will win? You decide.
What you need to play
2 players - you and a friend/sworn enemy to play against.
Models or standees on 32mm round bases to represent the characters on the pitch.
6 goal stick tokens (Use 32mm round bases)
A pool of six sided dice (d6), 10 or so each should be plenty, ideally split between 2 colours.
A tape measure.
Somewhere to play, determine the edges of your pitch so you can divide it into quarters.
2 left (diamond suited) playing cards, values are irrelevant (one for each player).
2 right (club suited) playing cards, values are irrelevant (one for each player).
2 forward (hearts suited) playing cards, values are irrelevant (one for each player)
A token or coin to represent the frisbee.
And the PDF rules for the game available for free here.
